Girl Talk ~ Social Skills for Girls
These Ten-Session groups are for girls in grades 3-8. They are designed to give girls an opportunity for personal growth in the following areas: developing emotional intelligence, increasing self-confidence and self-esteem, developing a positive body image, communication skill-building, assertiveness, coping skills for relational aggression, conflict-resolution, developing and maintaining healthy friendships, decision-making, and managing stress.
Managing Stress and Anxiety
This ten-session group is for boys and girls in grades 3-8. In this group, participants will identify ways anxiety interferes with daily functioning, learn relaxation techniques, practice investigative thinking to challenge anxious thoughts, learn how to re-frame anxious thoughts, identify the connections between thoughts-feelings-and behaviors, become aware of self-defeating behaviors due to anxiety and practice new confidence-building strategies.
Child-Parent-Relationship (C-P-R) Training
Learn the Keys to Helping Your Child Succeed in School and in Life!
C-P-R Training (also called Filial Therapy) is a research-based, 10-week parenting course for parents with children ages 3-7 that teaches parents how to use some of the same skills that play therapists use to help children experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral problems. In 10-weeks, you will learn how to regain control as a parent, help your child develop self-control, effectively discipline and limit inappropriate behavior, understand your child's emotional needs, and communicate more effectively with your child. In 10-weeks, you will see a noticeable difference in your relationship with your child, your child's behavior, your ability to respond effectively, and your confidence in your parenting skills.
Circle of Security Parenting
The Circle of Security Parenting Program began in 1998 and is based on decaedes of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. It is an internationally recognized early intervention program that increases attachment and security developed by Glen Cooper, Kent Hoffman, and Bert Powell. Circle of Security Parenting complements Theraplay sessions as well!
